The Kentucky Wesleyan College History Program strives to educate students to understand and appreciate the historical context of the human experience, to think critically, and to communicate effectively. History graduates will be prepared for entry into graduate school, teaching (in conjunction with the education program), and careers related to the field of history.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will understand change and continuity over time in multiple thematic, chronological, and geographical areas.
- Students will acquire critical thinking skills and learn to analyze critically both primary and secondary sources, including both textual and material sources.
- Students will demonstrate a knowledge of content knowledge.
- Students will organize and synthesize primary and secondary sources to support an argument through a variety of mediums.
- Students will demonstrate an ability to communicate knowledge and analysis of the past in written formats.
Offerings include a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Science degree, and a minor.
