The Art Program offers a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Art, Graphic Design, and Art Education. These programs are designed to provide students with an appreciation of designing in the visual arts as well as an understanding of the creation process. Students who major in art will develop the skills necessary for future careers in various art fields, including art education and graphic design and will be well prepared for graduate studies in traditional studio or digital art. The minor in Art or Graphic Design provides an opportunity for students to learn the skills necessary to effectively use art as it applies to their major. Offerings include a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a minor in Art or Graphic Design or an Animation minor. Information on the Graphic Design Online program can be found in the Online Section.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will exhibit creative thinking in the production of art for exhibition or commissions from patrons.
- Students will communicate effectively in visual, oral, and/or written format for exhibition proposals, contracts, or negotiations.
- Students will explore the Creation Process with problem-solving skills to create art for professional quality portfolios.
